The Spray Chilling system from Dutch Poultry Tech is an advanced solution for cooling poultry carcasses after evisceration and washing. Positioned as an alternative or addition to traditional air or water chilling methods, it combines the benefits of both systems to achieve efficient cooling while maintaining product quality.

In this process, carcasses are transported through a chilling tunnel on the overhead conveyor, where cold air circulates continuously around the birds. At the same time, fine sprays of chilled water are applied at controlled intervals using specially designed spray modules. This dual-action system enhances heat removal while preventing the surface of the carcass from drying out.

One of the main advantages of spray chilling is its ability to reduce evaporation and shrinkage, which are common in traditional air chilling systems. By maintaining surface moisture, the system helps retain product weight and improves the overall appearance of the poultry.

The controlled spraying process also contributes to faster and more uniform cooling, ensuring that carcasses reach the desired temperature efficiently. This is important for maintaining food safety, as rapid temperature reduction limits microbial growth and supports longer shelf life.
